SUMMARY:GAC Event 2018 - Herbold and Gonzalez to Speak to WS Chamber Members on Head Tax
DESCRIPTION:You are welcome to join us and register when you arrive! We look forward to seeing you!\n\n\n\n\n\nApril 19\, Thursday\n\n\nWest Seattle Chamber hosts open discussion on Head Tax with Councilmembers Herbold and Gonzalez.\n\n\n\nThe 2018 WS Chamber Membership Survey made it clear that members requested a meeting with their District's Councilmember Herbold on a revenue proposal known as the Employee Hours' Tax (EHT). \n\n\n\nCouncilmember Herbold has agreed to talk with the membership on April 19th\, Thursday from 8am - 9am and Councilmember Gonzalez has agreed to join her. The agenda includes 20 minutes for the Councilmembers to speak and then the floor will be open for Q&A. \n\n\n\nIt is with great pride that we live in a community where businesses and Councilmembers can sit and discuss business tax proposals\, the ramifications of the legislature and its implementation. The respect we show each other is the basis for our ability to work successfully together.\n\n\n\nWe are all in agreement the community has people with issues that results in homelessness. However\, this meeting is focused on the proposal for providing revenue\, specifically the EHT. \n\n\n\nFor background\, documents on seattle.gov are provided. The following links highlight some of the basic information on the EHT.\n\n\n	Council Still Working On A Plan To Get To A Head Tax - 11/18/17\n	Council Announces Progressive Revenue Task Force Co-Chairs\, Members - 12/19/17\n	Progressive Revenue Task Force Issues Final Recommendations\n	Councilmember Herbold March 16\, 2018 Newsletter \n\n\nRegistration is required.
